Summary:
Nick is invited to one of Gatsby's lavish parties. He runs into Jordan Baker at the party. Nick finally meets Gatsby when Gatsby says he recognizes Nick from war. Jordan has a private conversation with Gatsby and she says she heard somthing extraordinary. Nick describes his daily life and he decides to date Jordan besides the fact that she is a liar.

b)"Jordan Baker instinctively avoided clever, shrewd men, and now I saw that this was because she felt safer on a plane where any divergence from a code would be thought impossible. She was incurably dishonest."
c)Jordan is atheletic, independent, wealthy, successful,gossiper, and dishonest.
d) Jordan is now Nick's love interest. She is unlike the other women in the story because she is wealthy and independent. Jordan also is known to be often dishonest. She has even lied in her golf tournament. Jordan is a character that we might not be able to trust but we gain information from her when she converses with Nick.
"It made no difference to me. Dishonestly in a woman is a thing you never blame deeply-I was casually sorry, and then I forgot."
Nick likes Jordan besides the fact that she is a dishonest person. Most of the women in the book are not honest. He expresses that he does not blame women for lying and Nick is accepting of that. Men are looked at as more superior than women. Women may have to be dishonest to prove themselves or when they are under the power of their husbands.
